Description
The Piano Piece Árbi (n. heritage) is based on traditional hymns originated from the Sea-Sami area of Gáivuotna-Kåfjord and other areas within Sapmi. These hymns have been passed on by an oral tradition and in Árbi, these melodies form the basics of a musical expression inspired of both the past and the present, tradition and innovation.
This piece was commisioned by the Riddu Riđđu Indigenous people Festival and was first performed by Herborg Rundberg at Riddu Riđđu festival in 2008. Orda is a piano piece from 2010. The word orda means "by the mountain timberline".
